Very fun dive!

This is a must see! It gets better each time I dive it. It's really shallow so you get plenty of bottom time. You will need to stop by the tourism office to buy a $10 token to dive it. Very cool site!

Always an adventure to explore this...

This dive is one of my favourites because it's never the same! There are always new areas to explore and new growth on the ship to discover. Don't forget to look around the ship too to see the garden eels, big barracudas, sting rays and also eagle rays are spotted here frequently. Don't miss out on this dive!

Fun dive, its like a park for diver...

If you like wrecks, you'll like this site. I dived it twice. Both times I saw an eagle ray and lot's of schooling jacks. Very easy dive, little current and it's very shallow.

Massive Divers Playground!

This is a photographers dream. I suggest wide angle here. The wider the better. Turn your strobes off, adjust you ISO and shutter speed fro a great ambient light shot!

This massive barracuda has been hanging around the wreck for some time now! He's great!

Best Wreck Ever

The viz is great, there is lots of light due to all the entrance /egress openings which also allows most divers to comfortably experience the awesomeness of wrecks!

No special equipment was needed and it was great being able to see all the floors and rooms, including the helm and the engine room.

Definitely a must do, even with all the awesome dives around the island.

New Diver

On my kids' 16th birthday's they each got to pick something special to do. One daughter went shopping in New York, the other Snowboarding for the weekend. When it got to my son, it was Scubadiving in the Carribean! My husband has been diving 10+ years, and myself about 5 years. So he took private lessons here in Ohio and we booked a trip for the following July when he would be on school break. None of us had been to Grand Caymen before. What an Awesome experience for us all! The Kittiwake was our favorite dive there! Water was calm, boat ride was nice. The photo opportunities where Amazing! My son talked and talked about that dive. We all have our on BC's, regulators, masks and fins. Just needed tanks. This dive was the only boat dive we did, would Love to go back and do more! The shore diving was good too, especially since my son was so new at diving. Anyone going to Grand Caymen should definitely do this dive!

dived it many times

For your first ever wreck dive this is ok but to much stuff was taken out of the upper decks before it sunk for my liking. However if you are into photography the lighting is fantastic and you will spend many hours on this wreck. Well worth the gas to dive this. I prefer to use it has a deco stop after tec dives off the main wall its a good way to spend the hour deco.

Kittiwake

By Far the best wreck dive I have had the pleasure of doing. We explored the entire ship. Seeing yourself in the mirror as you went thru the head was cool!!

Kittywake-One of the Best

Kittiwake is one of the best wrecks for any level diver. The water in the Caymans is so clear and this wreck is in relatively shallow water making it possible to spend a lot of time on this wreck. It is also a very safe wreck for the novice or experienced diver. I highly recommend this dive as one of the best in the Caribbean.

Awesome

I had the pleasure of doing this dive with my brother inlaw just after qualifying as a PADI open water diver and the size of the wreck is literally breath taking hence the dive was a short one. I hope to do it again very soon and spend more time on the lower decks, it's a must dive if your going to Grand Cayman

Best Guided Wreck Dive

This was the highlight of our dive trip to the Cayman Islands a couple of years back. My wife and I had followed the articles and news about the extensive prep work and cleaning that took place to make this such a spectacular dive experience.
Diving from one of Wall to Wall Diving's boats we had a very knowledgeable dive master lead us. Starting at the port side stern, we swam along side the ship to one of the first entrances. Once inside we made our way forward going from one side to the over, up and down through stairwells and cut-thrus. What made it so great was the ship's original equipment that was preserved and left intact. Beast way to describe it is, it's like passing through a time capsule.
The ex-USS Kittyhawk had only be down a couple of years when we dove it. It was shortly after the hurricane moved it but there was an abundance of marine life already. We plan to make another trip down and will include this on our agenda again. We still proudly wear our special Kittyhawk medallion on our BCD today.
Again, this is a fantastic dive and ranks at the top of my 'do again' dives.

A favorite dive

Dove the Kittiwake wreck three years ago. A fair amount of reef life was beginning to grow. The equipment left on board is quite interesting to shoot. The bridge is in good shape. The hyperbaric chambers are quite interesting to see. Well worth the effort to get there and dive the wreck.

WE LOVE THIS WRECK!

This site is great for so many reasons. It's shallow so you have lots of bottom time. It's been cut open so there is ambient light throughout the wreck. It's close to shore so the boat ride is very short. And for those of you who don't like wreck dives, you will be happy to hear that it's right next to one of the coolest wall/reefs called Sand Chute!
Because we get so many requests to dive the Kittiwake, we try and schedule it in the afternoon. Make sure to request this site in advance!

Great for snorkeling or diving!

We have been visiting the island for many years and were super happy when we found out about this fabulous wreck. Some in our group have yet to take the plunge so this site is fun for everyone. It's only about 10 feet down so even the most timid snorkeler can see the wreck. I highly recommend this to all divers and non-divers alike!

February 2016

This was an easy dive for two people with minimal experience diving on shipwrecks. Water was a little turbulent that day but visibility was still good. We went with a divemaster from Epic .
